Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX) is a website set up by the government for teachers in the public schools. It has lesson plans and some resources.

You can search by grade or subject and see ideas and plans.

Alabama Region SCCA Teen Drivers resource

The Alabama Region SCCA Teen Drivers (ALSCCA) is proud to conduct several Teen Driver Clinics each year. These are one-day, hands-on, behind-the-wheel collision avoidance and defensive driving clinics that teach new teen drivers the skills needed to avoid vehicle incidents.

Alys Stephens Center Meet the Artist Series

Alys Stephens Center Meet the Artist Series has Free Daytime Performances for Schools:

“These one-hour performances allow the ASC to share the arts with students and aspiring young artists by experiencing the thrill of a live performance in a world-class performing arts center. Performers will engage students with anecdotes about their professional training and provide insight into the pieces they perform and the instruments they play.”

Birmingham Homeschool Band

Birmingham Homeschool BandThroughout its ten-year history the Band has grown and developed into a talented group of homeschooled students who play for God’s glory and enjoy God’s wonderful gift of music.

Birmingham Zoo

The Birmingham Zoo  has homeschool classes for kids of all ages!

Fees apply and membership is available.

Lightning Strikes Bowling

Lightning Strikes Bowling in Trussville has a homeschool day every Friday until 5pm.  

They charge $2.75 for the first game and shoe rental, then $1.50 for each addition game.

Make sure you call them before you go to verify that they are still holding this event.

McWane Science Center

The McWane Science Center has homeschool science classes each semester.

Fees apply and membership is available.

Everest Academy Teen Drivers Info

The Everest Academy Teen Drivers Info offers date specific driver’s ed classes for area home schoolers (they are located in Gadsden). Students must be at least 15 years of age. If they have obtained their permit or driver’s license, they should bring it with them.

Regal Summer Movie Program

Regal Summer Movie ProgramMoviegoers of all ages can climb aboard to enjoy a great selection of films. During this 9-week festival, select Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres will offer selected PG rated movies for only $1 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.

Scholastic Book Fairs Warehouse Sale has book fairs listed by City, State. Click the town closest to you to find a book fair near you!

Six Flags Homeschool Day.

Six Flags Homeschool Day is a program where home schoolers and their families can observe the mechanics of world-class thrill rides. Teachers are also welcome to create a corresponding lesson plan for their students. 

Trussville Library

The Trussville Library has all kinds of children’s activities.

Their are book clubs, American girl clubs, volunteer opportunities, movie nights, and more!

Trussville Playstation

The Trussville Playstation has homeschool days on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month.

They $3 per skater and $3 per game of laser tag.

This offer is not good on holidays.
